Dan Bryan.
Lead vocals/songwriter/co-production
After various guises iceHouse Project pivots around one person.
Robs decision to take more of a back seat last year left Dan
with only one option. He had to find a new creative partner.
Dave Bradfield. Seen as the driving force Dan is also a massive
presence, both on stage and off (He's 6'5") his energetic
showmanship has help build the bands reputation as a spectacle
well worth seeing.
With more costume changes than Superman, Wonder Woman and
Spiderman put together it's this kind of theater that adds
to the spectacular sound of a band clearly comfortable with
their unique and catchy trashy disco.
David Bradfield
Drums/programming/production
Davids talents have already been proved when he co-wrote "Feel
so High" with Des'ree. A top 3 hit in many countries back
in the early 90s. His knack at producing a funky disco edged
sound though have proven worth while with the Baseman Family
fronted by his sister Kirsty.
Working with Dan means he can expand the sound even more because
the iceHouse sound is slightly harder edged in some ways and
extremely over the top commecial in others. It's a nice balance
for the Hull born producer who's favopurite place is behind
a mixing desk, lap top and then his wive!
Rob Law
Keyboards/writer
Robs decision to be less hands on could have spelled disaster
and also usually a fall out, However although it was hard
and at the time "Was like getting a divorce" it's worked out
really well. Rob has co-written most of the original iceHouse
material with Dan and coupled with the stuff he's been working
on with Dave the two mix together brilliantly. When playing
live Rob provides the keyboard sounds that have given the
songs their distinctive edge. He's usually stage left behind
a massive bank of Rolands, Korgs and his fave Rhodes.
Backing Vocals...
"You can never have too many backing vocals" Dan once said
and here we see what he means. Although not all of these "Divaz"
are used all of the time it's great to see a hareem of talent
on which you can call!
Steph Galbraith
Vocals of the pure crystaline sort. Stephs high harmony and
clear voice cut through alot of the vocals that are around
today. Her voice provides the top end when it comes to the
iceHouse harmonies. She is also an acomplished actress and
loves - among other things - performing live.
Jay Hilalen
Jay provides the oompfff for want of a better word. Her vocals
are of the massive sort, Anastacia-esque with the accuracy
of Beyonce Knowles. He ability to rapidly, successionally
pitch notes is evident in the ad-libs she provides (Interplanetary...
Give me the Music etc...).When it comes to the harmony work
she provides the warmth and together with Steph that distinctive
iceHouse sound.
Agnes Frazer
Although Agnes is not used in the studio a great deal (her
vocals are present on Give me the Music) she is a great asset
to have when the band go out live. Her rich warm vocals provide
the smooth bottom end that is often lost when bands make the
transistion from studio to stage. Tracy Chapman-esque, her
voice is beautiful and mix it with Steph and Jays and you
have the perfect sound.
Kat Keech
Kat is a member of Hulls most famous musical family with brother
Dave (or simply THE KEECH) already having drummed for iceHouse
at the Vulcan Arena last October. Her vocals are stunning
and she has great range, control and restraint over her voice
(Christina and Beyonce take note).
Gemma Batchelor
Gemma was a chance discovery by Dan who'd known her a while
from clubbing. What he didn't realize was that she posseses
one of the richest voices ever to come from a white girl.
Gem provides the low end of things in the 3 harmonies.
